The Diplomatic Academy won 'Best Capability Building Program' at the Australian Institute of Training and Development’s Awards.

The team at the Diplomatic Academy was extremely proud to win the ‘Best Capability Building Program’ at the Australian Institute of Training and Development’s annual Excellence Awards on 12 November 2021.

The Academy won the award for our MOOC on Understanding Australia’s Foreign Policy. This four-week online course provides DFAT and APS staff with an understanding of foreign policy in order to have the knowledge and skills to do their roles effectively.

The Australian Institute of Training and Development is the industry body for learning and development in Australia. Each year they have annual excellence awards and, this year, we nominated our 'Understanding Australia’s Foreign Policy' MOOC in the categories of ‘Best Capability Building Program’ and ‘Best Use of Technology for Learning’. The Diplomatic Academy was a finalist in both categories.

Other finalists for the ‘Best Capability Building Program’ category included Australian Bureau of Statistics; Cerebal Palsy Alliance (CPA) and Kineo; EY; GPC Asia Pacific and Repco; Impact Innovation Group, Presence Communications and TAFE Queensland Small Business Solutions; nbn, Learning and Development and Network Emergency Management; OpenLearning and Australian Catholic University; Optus; Rio Tinto; and Woolworths and TAFE NSW.
